Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) & Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV)
A feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) test screens cats for exposure to or infection with these viruses.
What the test does:
The test is a blood test that detects the presence of FeLV antigens or FIV antibodies. The test can be run individually or together and is recommended for new cats entering a household, or cats with concurrent illnesses
What the results mean:
A negative result helps determine health or exclude disease, a positive result means that the cat has the virus present in their blood
Additional information:
FeLV is a common infectious disease that spreads from cat to cat through the exchange of body fluids.
